1. Who we are

This website is operated by Pemberley Technology Limited (“Darcy”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17295447) with its registered office at 86 Roseneath Road, London, England, SW11 6AQ.

We are the data controller responsible for your personal data collected through this website. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at darcy@darcyplans.com.

2. The data we collect

When you use this website, we may collect:

  • Contact data: your email address, when you join our waitlist.
  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
  • Usage data: information about how you use our website, such as pages visited and time spent on the site.
  • Voice and conversation data: if you choose to use the “Talk to Darcy” voice feature, the audio of your side of the conversation and a transcript of what is said, together with the technical data needed to run the call.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.

3. How we use your data and our lawful bases

Under UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR), we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. We use your data as follows:

  • To manage the waitlist and contact you about Darcy’s launch and early access — on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit your email address. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • To send you updates about Darcy, including news and offers — on the basis of your consent. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To provide the “Talk to Darcy” voice conversation — on the basis of your consent, which you give by choosing to start a call. Your audio is processed in real time to hold the conversation. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information during a call.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve our website — on the basis of our legitimate interests in running and developing our business.
  • To comply with legal obligations — where we are required to retain or disclose data by law.

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the website and manage communications, such as website hosting, analytics, and email service providers, and the voice-technology provider (ElevenLabs) that powers the “Talk to Darcy” feature. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
  • Professional advisers, including lawyers, bankers, auditors, and insurers, where necessary.
  • Authorities and regulators, where required by law.
  • A buyer or successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of some or all of our assets, in which case your data would remain subject to this policy or one offering equivalent protection.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may be located outside the UK. Where we transfer your data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved standard contractual clauses (including the UK International Data Transfer Addendum).

6. Data retention

We keep your waitlist email address until Darcy launches and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe, whichever is sooner. Technical, usage, and voice conversation data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request erasure of your data;
  • object to processing of your data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • request transfer of your data (data portability); and
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at darcy@darcyplans.com. We will respond within one month. You will not usually have to pay a fee to exercise your rights.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection (www.ico.org.uk), though we would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.

8. Security

We have put in place appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, accessed, altered, or disclosed in an unauthorised way. Access to your data is limited to those who have a business need to know it.

9. If you are a supplier we have contacted

We plan events for our clients, which means approaching suppliers on their behalf: venues, photographers, florists, caterers and others. If you have received an email from us and never gave us your details, this section explains why.

Where we got your contact details. From your own website, or from a public business listing or directory. We do not buy contact lists.

What we hold. Your business name and contact details, the notes our team keeps on your work, and our correspondence with you, including any quotes or availability you send us.

Why we are allowed to. Our legitimate interest in finding and booking suppliers for our clients’ events. We think a business email asking whether you are available for a specific event on a specific date is what you publish those details for. If you disagree, you can object, and we will stop.

How to make us stop. Reply and say so, or email darcy@darcyplans.com. We will mark you as not to be contacted and you will not hear from us again. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Your full rights are in section 7 above.

How long we keep it. While we are in contact about an event, and for up to two years afterwards so we know who we have already approached and what they quoted. Longer if we have a contract with you, for as long as our records require.

10. If you apply for a job with us

When you apply for a role through our careers page, we collect the information you give us in the application form — such as your name, contact details, location, links to your work, and anything you tell us about your experience and availability — together with any correspondence about your application.

Why we are allowed to. To assess your suitability for the role and to take steps at your request before potentially entering into a contract, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in recruiting for our team.

How long we keep it. We keep your application on file so we can consider you for this role and for future ones. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing careers@darcyplans.com, and we will remove it. Your full rights are in section 7 above.

11. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. For details, see our Cookie Policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
