Progress so far!

Darcy officially began at about 2pm on 10 June 2026, in the arrivals terminal at London Luton Airport (glamorous, I know). It was the first time Lotta and I had ever met in person.

For the months before that, we'd been building Darcy across an eight-hour time difference. I was in London, Lotta was in San Francisco, and neither of us had left our day jobs yet. So I was up at silly o'clock, Lotta was up late into the night, and we'd grab whatever time we could before work. Darcy was a 24-hour operation before it was even a company (in hindsight, a sign of the hours to come).

Those months were very sleepy and very scrappy. We sketched out the MVP, worked through the principles Darcy is built on, and tried to figure out where on earth you start with something this big.

After we met, everything sped up. Within days we'd joined Project Europe, 20VC's accelerator, which kicked off our pre-seed round. Then we packed our bags for a month in Berlin with the {} fellows, and while we were there, at the end of June, we told the world about Darcy. Over 500 of you joined the waitlist in the first week, and we were completely overwhelmed, in all the best ways.

From that list we picked five alpha clients across the three kinds of hosts we're building for: private hosts, enterprise hosts and experience hosts. They've all been brilliant. They told Darcy their plans and (importantly) told us when something wasn't working. They've helped us understand what each kind of host really needs, which parts of a planner's job software can take on, and which still need the taste and trust that only an experienced event expert brings. The idea we keep coming back to is simple: you dream the vision, Darcy does the legwork.

We've spent the summer working out of London, Tallinn, Paris, Berlin, Stockholm and pretty much any European city with decent Wi-Fi and a spare desk.

Which brings us to today, 30 September, when Darcy launches publicly and we open the doors to a whole new wave of hosts. Tell Darcy what you're imagining, whether that's a company offsite, a product launch, a 40th or a wedding, and she'll take it from idea to execution.

We wouldn't be here without the support of so many people over the past few months, so a huge thank you to each and every one of you (you know exactly who you are). Darcy is as much yours as it is ours.

Here we go!!

30th Sep 2026Next: Darcy launches :)
